Activities in Germany

Past few weeks

I havent been writing in here for a while mainly coz I didnt get the time. Over the last few weeks I have been in Wiesbaden to visit a few friends of mine and I also spent a weekend in Duisburg. In Duisburg I visited a cousin of mine who would be best described as my mortal enemy in my childhood (u knw, one of those people you just cant stand for more than a couple of hours). So i went there wit mixed feelings, I guess she was expecting me with mixed feelings as well…since hate is mutual. One thing I can say after this weekend is that time changes people, hmm… maybe everyone except me since tats wat I keep hearing, since this weekend was awesome..

I went to Sea life which is a Aquamarine kinda zoo… and also went to the biggest mall in germany (though I came to know bout tat after reachin back in Frankfurt) . Also saw a bit of Duisburg and of course a couple of bars… it is a pity that it takes me 4 cocktails to get a high these days, by the time I finished my 4th I was blown the high after 3.. there used to be a time tat all it took me was a peg :( .

Photos will be uploaded (hopefully) soon, am having a backlog in that regards as well.

Oktoberfest without a tent

Finally I went to the Oktoberfest, it was worth it though I have to admit that I missed out on the main attraction of Oktoberfest…the Tents. They are big fest halls where people can sit and have as much beer as their bowels allow. Considering that the jugs ..knows as mass are 1L capacity each it shudnt take too long.

We left for Munich early in the morn from Frankfurt, and we spent nearly n hour lookin for a parking place in Munich.. wat a way to spend time. Finally when we reached the place it was jampacked, from wat we were told the tents were already occupied by 9.. no chance to get in when we reached only at 12.30.  The thing bout the fest is .. if u wanna drink the beer from the jugs u shud get into a tent… since they dont serve beer in a jug outside of the tents.

Well .. all hope was not lost since we found somethin like a mini-tent (which is still of adequate size) which did business by restricting entry time to 1hr for each person, u can drink…n must eat.. too bad since we just had lunch.

Apart from that the Oktoberfest is loaded with rides, which defy gravity, I wonder how people could go on one of these after drinkin. The traditional dresscode would be Lederhosen for guys and a traditional dress for the girls.

After the fest we went back to Frankfurt in the nite. Now it seems that the events worth mentionin in Germany are over for the time being. So.. may go to France or somethin in the future.. but first still got places in germany to go to.. n friends to visit.

On a negative note.. my mp3 player earphones went bust… thinkin.. buy a new earphone… or just wait for the new ipod nano n buy tat????
